An exhibition of drawings by Reuben Colley, James Byrne, Rick Garland and Stuart Free.
Black and White.
I have always wanted to stage an exhibition without any colour. The restriction of an image to being purely tonal brings a completely different ambience to a piece of art, whether it is a drawing or painting, a sculpture or even a film. It can emphasize a mood or drama, it can smother you in hazy sunlight, it reminds us of nostalgic times and can also render a work of art timeless. It separates us from reality, and we are transported into an alternative place where light and dark describes all form and atmosphere, a world which emerges from the shadows. Reuben Colley 2010
