Ever since Andy Warhol painted a soup can in the 1960's popular culture has occupied a place in the centre of fine art. While Horace Panter sits within that tradition, he has his own unique vision. In recent years he has focused upon the American urban scene, making exciting compositions from diners, street signed and shop fronts. In this new collection Horace observes vending machines with meticulous attention, treating them almost as religious icons.
