Our opening exhibition is a wide ranging collection of art that explores the whole ethos of the gallery. Paintings by masters such as Frederick Gore and David Shepherd, limited editions by Sir William Russell Flint, L.S. Lowry and Robert Lenkiewicz, and contemporary artists James Byrne, Graham Chorlton, Reuben Colley, David Kiely and Rick Garland.
The link between these artists is the conviction with which they produce their art, their sheer self belief and presence of mind in what they are doing. The honesty of a day in the studio exploring ideas, documenting truths and expressing emotions leading to a pure, unadulterated originality in the end product. This is where integrity lies in art. Indeed, since the opening of the exhibition on February 6th 2010 the responses have been overwhelmingly positive. The number of excellent, yet astonishingly under represented artists emerging, and collectors expressing relief at the return of a 'proper' gallery to Birmingham all leads to a very optimistic future. We are looking forward to representing some of the highest quality artists. We have started as we mean to go on.
