9th August - 30th August - ROXANA HALLS - New collection - including the BBC Paintings
Internationally acclaimed artist Roxana Halls will be in the gallery to discuss her latest collection on Saturday 12th August 2023 from 12pm until 4pm.
We are proud to have Roxana back with us for what is turning out to be another exciting year. We will be showing, for the first time, the large scale portrait that was created for BBC1s Extraordinary Portraits when Roxana joins us in the gallery on 12th August 2023.
Roxana is one of the UK’s most exciting artists. She challenges society’s expectations of women.
Recently commissioned by Disney for their forthcoming movie 'Haunted Mansion' (which comes out on 11th August 2023) and a major Museum show in Berlin at Haus Kunst Mitte which runs until October 2023, Roxana's profile has never been higher.
This follows 2022 that saw one of her portraits acquired by the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, and her portrait of Katie Tomkins - Mortuary & Post Mortem Services Manager at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust has been acquired for the permanent collection of the SCIENCE MUSEUM as part of their COVID-19 Collecting Project. The portrait was selected from among over 15,000 Portraits for NHS Heroes worldwide to represent them.
