Kate Sherman's new collection COAST will be on display from 23rd July. This evocative collection is inspired by the coastal towns of Sussex, and by Kate's own memories of childhood by the seaside. The paintings, often slightly out of focus as though viewed from a moving vehicle, explore ideas of loss, displacement and the passage of time. With their bleached-out palette they evoke, in Kate's words, 'a faded memory or a remembered dream.'
A painting from this collection was selected by Grayson Perry for the Royal Academy Summer Show in 2018.
